Unit move out cleaning checklist

The rental unit must be cleaned thoroughly upon move-out. Please see checklist below for the cleaning expections. These should be complete by noon on your move out day.
Fridges, stove and microwave are clean, both inside and out. This is a good chance to throw out that stuff no one is ever going to eat. Ensure you follow the manufacturers cleaning instructions for the stove top surface and the oven so they are not damaged. If the glass top of the stove has burnt on residue, it is not clean.
All cupboards & closets (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, etc.) are clean.
All linoleum floors are washed and hardwood floors are vacuumed. Baseboards, window and door casings and similar surfaces should be dusted.
All carpets must be professionally cleaned. Please provide receipt upon move out. Self-cleaning of carpets is not allowed.
All bathroom fixtures (tub, shower, sink, vanity, mirror, toilet) are cleaned. If glass looks “milky”, it is not clean. If the toilet bowl has stains, it is not clean. The non-tile space in showers are mostly white. Pink or brown colors are a hint they are not clean.
Exhaust fan grills in bathrooms and kitchen are clean. Care should be taken to avoid damaging any hooks that attach them to the fans/vents. The kitchen fan collects the oil you cook with. You will need to clean it with something like Dove kitchen soap to get that off.
All light bulbs are working. Any burned out bulbs should be replaced with 2700k warm LED bulbs. Make sure the bulb wattage matches the fixture. For LED bulbs there is an “incandescent” rating and that should match the fixture. This is usually the big number on the package like “60 watt”.
All light fixtures are clean.
All walls are clean.
Deck area clean and all items removed.
All tenant items/garbage removed from property. Please leave nothing behind. This includes the carport, garage and any storage areas in the house.
Report, to the landlord, any damages or items that need repair.
If you are unable to clean the items listed above we recommend hiring a cleaner to perform the final move out cleaning. Your deposit will be returned within two weeks of your move out date if there are no issues.
